To commemorate the Reichspogromnacht 84 years ago on November 9, 1938, the city of Rheine commemorates on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 7:00 pm on the former synagogue property at the intersection Neuenkirchener Straße / Salzbergener Straße with a wreath-laying ceremony of all Jewish fellow citizens who were deported and murdered in the various concentration camps of Europe. Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the lecture “A tribute to Sophie Scholl by SPIEGEL best-selling author Tim Pröse will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the VHS in the Josef-Winckler-Zentrum.
