São Romão skatepark starts construction on the 7th

On Monday the 7th, work will begin on rehabilitating the Skatepark in São Romão, an intervention that aims to improve safety conditions for practicing the various sports that can be practiced there.

Inaugurated in 2006 with a surface area of around 2,265 m2, the space is currently showing obsolete equipment, wear and tear and degradation caused by intense use and the natural ageing of the construction materials.

The aim is to create conditions for sustained development in support of sport and leisure, with a view to practicing the various sports in safety and, at the same time, promoting proximity between the various age groups.

Safety conditions will be improved throughout the equipment area by creating elements/obstacles, eliminating existing risks for users.

With a deadline of 90 days and an investment of 152,901.41 euros, the aim is to create a “street” type playground, inspired by city streets, i.e. with stages, descents, handrails, among other obstacles that can imitate a situation similar to urban design, with the laying of highly resistant flooring and the alteration, re-adaptation and construction of obstacles.
