Municipality awards contract for Monte Redondo Business Park

With a tender launched in November, the municipality awarded the contract for the first phase of the Monte Redondo Business Park (PEMR) infrastructures at a town hall meeting on Tuesday.

This first phase, which will involve an estimated investment of 3,911,496.82 euros, will cover the south and west of the area, since the main access to the PEMR will be via Rua da Bajouca (currently under renovation), a road that connects with the EN109 and the A17.

The project will cover 267,805 m2 and a total of 22 plots, as well as the creation of streets, three traffic circles, parking for light vehicles (157) and heavy vehicles (18) and almost 61,000 m2 of green areas.

At the end of the 365 days set aside for the execution of the infrastructures, the PEMR will be equipped with a road network, water supply, domestic wastewater and rainwater networks (in a separate system), signage, gas, telecommunications and electricity systems, as well as landscaping elements, which will also serve the remaining 24 plots.

The completion of the PEMR responds to a need to promote and develop the northern part of the municipality, which is now a reality after a long process of expropriation and legitimization of the contract.

Once the contract has been signed, it will be sent to the Court of Auditors, and it is expected that work will begin in April.
