Old railroad in new splendor

Cooperation between the daycare center Hofzwerge e. V. and the Caritas-Emstor workshops

Rheine. Malte and Henrik, both two years old, are calling loudly for help at the Hofzwerge daycare center. They want to build the wooden train and somehow it doesn’t work. Frustration quickly sets in. They had planned to race against each other with their trains. Of course, they quickly find help and happily begin their game. The educators have the idea that the train could be mounted on a wooden board so that the game can begin right away!

Through the work of a father in the Caritas Emstor workshops in the vocational training area, the idea came up to do something together. The young people in the vocational training area can do creative and manual work and also pursue some development goals. In addition, the project work serves a good purpose, says Markus Döpker, head of the Caritas-Emstor workshops. The creative people set to work with great interest and dedication. A decorative panel is artistically created with paint, then the rail system including the station and bridges were attached to it. There was measuring, drilling and screwing. The participants in the vocational training area of the Caritas Emstor workshops visibly had a lot of fun building this project for the children of the Hofzwerge Dutum e.V. daycare center, according to the group leader of the vocational training area, Martin Buhl.

The children of the daycare center are very enthusiastic and conquer the game created in the new splendor. The joy is great on all sides. With a personal reception, cake and cheerful singing, the Hofzwerge daycare center thanks the employees of the vocational training area of Caritas-Emstor-Werkstätten for the great cooperation.
