A central point of the Ems is being redesigned

Citizen information on the Ems weir on 15 November

Rheine. The Ems is a supra-regional fish migration route, which is why the dam at the Ems weir in Rheines city center, as well as ten other dams in the entire course of the Ems, must be converted to ensure an intact flowing water. The Ems weir is to be retained as far as possible, but the basin is to be converted into a fish-passable rough channel.

The Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) is responsible for this measure together with the Münster district government as the planning authority. The WSV, together with the district government of Münster and the city of Rheine, would like to present the concrete implementation of this extensive construction measure to all interested citizens on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 5 p.m. in the city hall .

Registration for this citizen information is not required. Should you have any questions about the plans in advance or require further background information, please feel free to contact Ms. Tessa Schupp, Tel.: 05971 939 414 or by mail to .
