After the Corona break, the board of the Nature Zoo Association had invited members to a meeting again on Friday evening. 100 interested people came to learn about the latest developments of their association.

The focus of interest this year was the new zoo school. Zoo director Achim Johann recalled that the building of the old zoo school had been so badly affected by woodworm that it was no longer possible to renovate it. The new building was built on the same site, equipped with the latest technology and the latest zoo educational standards.
So the members could “press the school desks” in several groups and inform themselves about the facility. Not only the old chalkboard disappeared and was replaced by a modern “whiteboard”. Whiteboards are the further development of the classic blackboard and belong in a modern classroom. They have the advantages of the blackboard, such as easy wiping, magnetic adhesion and very long durability. In addition, whiteboards also serve as a projection surface for beamers and allow for more detailed lettering.
Visitors were also able to marvel at a light-flooded multi-purpose room. In the future, there will also be a terrarium exhibition here, which will be open to all zoo visitors. In these rooms, the topic of the development of biodiversity in particular will be vividly communicated.
As is the case everywhere in the construction industry, there have been many problems that have led to considerable delays, Johann explained. For this reason, it is not yet possible to commit to an opening date for the new zoo school.
