With the Fietze to Borne

After the friends from Borne had the barbecue party in the city park as their destination in May, the city partners from Rheine set off today for the “Melbuul’n Dag’n” in Borne. Punctually at 9 a.m. about 50 cyclists met at the Bornesquare in front of the town hall to start under the leadership of Engelbert Nagelschmidt in the direction of the Netherlands. This also marks the “ride in” on the northern route of the new “Vriendenweg” cycle path, which was developed to mark the 40th anniversary of the town twinning between Borne and Rheine.

The chairman of the town twinning association, Reiner Wellmann, welcomed the association members and friends of the association on the market square. After organizer Engelbert Nagelschmidt had given some explanations about driving in such a large group, the trip went along the Ems towards Borne.
