This comes from the heart

Generous donation for the Franz Wolters House in Neuenkirchen

Neuenkirchen/Rheine. cpr. For a long time they have been waiting for the new transporter. Now the residents of the Franz-Wolters-Haus of Caritas Rheine in Neuenkirchen could receive it joyfully. The vehicle, which is electrically powered, provides the residents with a higher degree of mobility and facilitates their participation in social life, since services outside the facility are now easier to reach.

The Franz-Wolters-Haus is part of the Jacob-Meyersohn-Wohnverbund of Caritas Rheine. This offers a wide range of support and residential services for people with disabilities in Rheine, Neuenkirchen and Wettringen. The employees in the facilities support people with disabilities by providing comprehensive assistance in all areas of life. They are guided by the individual’s support needs and wishes.

The purchase of this van as well as the wheelchair accessible equipment was made possible by the estate of Irmgard Deventer, a deceased mother of a former resident of the home. Marlies Scheinert, Deventer’s best friend for many years, has supported its use and also contributed to the donation.

The employees as well as the residents are equally happy about this new acquisition – on the one hand because of the personal connection to the donors, on the other hand because this way a contribution to climate protection is made. The new vehicle is a van with a purely electric drive. The Franz-Wolters-Haus thus fits seamlessly into the sustainable mobility concept of Caritas Rheine, which aims to make the vehicle fleets of its facilities as climate-friendly as possible in the long term.
