The first guests came from Borne

Partnership association: Cooperation between the senior citizens’ representative bodies is to be intensified

A whole bus full of seniors from our twin town Borne had arrived today just in time for the opening of the St. Nicholas Market.

50 Bornenserinnen and Bornenser had traveled with representatives of the partnership committee to Rheine, in order to see the city and the Nikolausmarkt.

One destination of the guests from Borne was also the stand of the Förderverein Saline Gottesgabe. Chairman Thomas Liedmeyer (from left), his deputy Heinz-Joachim Sparring and Günther Probst had many souvenirs from Rheine ready.

On this occasion, the board members from both cities got to know each other better. Next year, the partnership will celebrate its 40th anniversary. In preparation for this event and beyond, both partners agreed on more intensive cooperation.

The boards of the senior citizens’ representative bodies and the twinning associations met on the fringes of the St. Nicholas Market to exchange views.
