Rheine. Dorothee Heckhuis, Managing Director of Stadtwerke für Rheine, and Hussen Tahmaz, Deputy Chairman of the Works Council, had a large symbolic donation cheque in their luggage. They handed it over to the director of the Kremer House, Markus Besta.
The 780 € are the result of an annual internal Christmas raffle among the employees of the Stadtwerke. All employees could take part and win one of the prizes offered by buying one or more tickets and do good in the process. All ticket buyers knew in advance that 100 per cent of the proceeds from their tickets would be donated. This is a tradition that has been practised in previous years during the Stadtwerke’s Christmas celebrations and should be continued, especially in the current Corona situation.
This time, the employees of the Stadtwerke decided to donate the € 780 collected to the Kremer House. Markus Besta, in the presence of his colleagues Jörg Jäger (product manager of the municipal social facilities) and Anna Kaleschke (social worker), thanked the Kremer-Haus for the donation and explained how important such additional funds are for the facility, “because it allows us to provide help quickly and unbureaucratically and to buy daily necessities, food or equipment. He also cited figures that illustrate the increasing need: Last year alone, there were 1436 overnight stays in the Kremer House. 110 people used the facility, including 29 women and 81 men. Besta thanked Ms. Heckhuis and Mr. Tahmaz for the great campaign and the special commitment, who accepted the thanks on behalf of the entire staff.
