Rheine. Major changes at the town library are on the horizon. As soon as the Hertie building has been completely demolished, work will begin on the conversion of the town hall center. This will also affect the municipal library, which will be relocated for the duration of the conversion work. On August 22, 2022, the removal vans will be parked in front of the door, the destination being the former Toom-Markt on Osnabrücker Straße. Here, the library will be able to offer its full range of services again by mid-October at the latest.
Until then, the library in the town hall center will once again ring in the reading summer with many activities. The library will then bid farewell to the mall with events for adults and children on the weekend before the move. Tickets for the events are only available at the library – admission is free.
The popular media flea market will also be held once again in the old premises. Media that are not to be taken away will be available for purchase. In the next three weeks media from the area health and natural sciences are to be found in the first floor of the library. After that, there will be media from the area of music and last but not least, media from all areas of the library will be available at the flea market.
