“SchulHelden” for immigrant children and young people

Caritasverband Rheine is looking for volunteersRheine. cpr. The first refugees from Ukraine have also reached Rheine in recent weeks. Many newly immigrated children and young people are now being accepted into schools. To give these children a good start in school, theCaritasRheinehaslaunched an appeal. Volunteers are being sought who willaccompany the new students in schoolthrough personal attentionand help.Through a trustingaccompaniment between adults and children and in close coordination with theteachers, the first steps in their school career in Germany are made easier forthe students.The support takes place on the premises of the participating schools.This idea is not new; volunteer mentors have been working in elementary schools for more than ten years. “Some of them are still active today,” knows Kevin Löcke from the Migration and Integration Service. He is one of the two contact persons for the “SchoolHeroes”.
