Network “Where to? At home in Rheine” hosts Christmas party

(v.l.) Stefan Gude (Caritasverband Rheine), Raimund Gausmann (Stadt Rheine), Peter Lüttmann (Stadt Rheine) und Jan Kröger (St. Antonius Kirchengemeinde) übernahmen die Essensausgabe bei der Weihnachtsfeier des Netzwerkes „Wohin? Zu Hause in Rheine“.

Rheine. The network “Where to? At home in Rheine” has organized a Christmas party for needy people from Rheine. The network consists of the youth and drug counseling center, the soup kitchen of Caritas Rheine, the emergency housing assistance of Caritas Rheine, the station mission (Caritas Rheine u. Diakonisches Werk Tecklenburg) and the social institutions of the city Rheine.

The organizers have collected monetary donations to present the 100 registered guests at the end of the event a gift bag well filled with food, hygiene products and Christmas sweets.

The entire Christmas party is funded entirely by donations. In the years before Corona, each facility organized its own small Christmas party. In the Corona years, unfortunately, these did not take place. Nevertheless, in these two years the clients of the facilities could enjoy gift bags as an aid package, which the network was also able to put together from donations.

This year it was decided to organize a big joint celebration of the mentioned institutions. Also present were Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann, Alderman Raimund Gausmann, Stefan Gude as Head of Association Policy and Communication of the Caritas Association and Pastor Jan Kröger of the St. Antonius Parish, who then also immediately became active and took over the food distribution at the buffet. This new form of Christmas celebration was well received and offered those present a nice pre-Christmas event.
