Rheine. This week, Rheines Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann paid a special visit to the fire and rescue station Rheine. He welcomed two very special interns who are currently supporting the fire department team at Frankenburgstraße. Constance Soul and William Kinoi from Kenya are currently interning at Rheine, in order to get to know the work of fire departments in Germany better. This is made possible by the non-profit organization European Fire and Rescue Support Association e.V. (in short: European Support Team – EST), which aims to promote the development and expansion of fire protection in disadvantaged regions of the world.

By establishing a functioning fire and rescue service system, the aim is to ensure that people receive adequate help in emergency situations. The two firefighters will stay in Rheine until next week and gain essential insights into local fire protection before returning to Kenya.
