Vacation programs for children – register now

The fall vacations are just around the corner and the days are getting shorter – just the right time to discover new things in the museum and get active yourself. Two vacation programs for children are offered by the municipal museums Rheine in the first week of the vacations. On Tuesday, October 4 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., the salt workshop opens for children ages 7 to 10. The program “Salt from Rheine” starts with a discovery tour in the Salinenpark and in the historical salt boiling house. Afterwards, they will experiment in the salt workshop and boil salt from the brine in small pans. Each child can take it home with them – in a little linen bag of their own design.

On Wednesday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the theme at Bentlage Monastery is “All Dipped in Autumn Colors.” Children from 7 to 12 years can create pictures in bright autumn colors. As an inspiration for mixing the autumn tones, some paintings in the Westphalian Gallery will be looked at. But the colorful autumn leaves from the Bentlager forest also provide great inspiration – so the children are asked to collect some beautiful leaves on the way and bring them along. For their own pictures, powdery pastel crayons will be used, which shine especially beautifully. The cost for both programs is € 3 per child and registration is required at the Visitor’s Office of the Municipal Museums at 05971 – 920610.
