Farewell after 39 years of therapeutic pedagogy

Hildegard Pieper-Greiwe from the Caritas home for children and young people

Rheine. cpr. After 39 years of beneficial work, the curative teacher Hildegard Pieper-Greiwe said goodbye to her service at the Caritas Children’s and Youth Home. As an employee of the curative education and psychological service, she was tirelessly there for children and adolescents with in-depth professional know-how. She was the “curative education personified,” said Martin Janning, head of the service in a ceremony. In doing so, he said, she was in touch with the girls and boys with the patience of small steps, with the promise that “it will be all right and I’m with you,” and with tremendous creativity. In play therapy, parent counseling, diagnostics, concept development and the initiation of foster care relationships, as well as the induction of new professionals, she set her trademarks. With a heartfelt thank you from the deputy director of the home Michael Homey and the Golden Badge of Honor of the German Caritas Association, the former managing director Norbert Dörnhoff, representing the managing director Winfried Hülsbusch, who was ill at short notice, presented the gift. Many active and former colleagues bid farewell to Hildegard Pieper-Greiwe, who is now retiring.
