Caritas Emstor Workshops: Siegfried Mau and Manfred Gehring /Silver Caritas Badge of Honor

Rheine. cpr. After many years of commitment in the Caritas-Emstor workshops of the Caritasverband Rheine, Siegfried Mau and Manfred Gehring were bid farewell to their retirement at a ceremony by the board Dieter Fühner, management, colleagues and companions. Both employees have shaped their areas of responsibility, in the case of Siegfried Mau the bicycle station and in the case of Manfred Gehring the vocational training in terms of content and concept, and have set significant milestones. In his eulogy, Dieter Fühner praised the high level of commitment to the work of the Caritas-Emstor workshops and to the bike station. In recognition of their special commitment, he presented both employees with the Caritas pin of honor in silver on behalf of the German Caritas Association and the Diocesan Caritas Association of Münster.Siegfried Mau began working for Caritasverband Rheine in 1997 as an instructor in the “Working and Learning” project in the Caritas training centers. In 1999, Siegfried Mau moved to the Caritas Emstor workshops and, together with the workshop management at the time, started the establishment of a bike station in Rheine. Since its founding, he has helped put his stamp on the bike station and developed it into a successful model. With his team of people with disabilities, skilled workers and trainees, he has constantly taken on new challenges.

Manfred Gehring began working at the Caritas-Emstor workshops in 2000. From the very beginning, it was clear to him that he wanted to accompany the young people entrusted to him in their vocational training. As a master craftsman in mechanical engineering, he was familiar with a methodically and didactically structured way of working. With his infinite patience, Manfred Gehring mastered every challenge together with his colleagues as a team. Over the years, Mr. Gehring has helped numerous young people find a path to professional participation.
