Rheine. The organizational structure of the municipal transport service Rheine is to be reviewed again.
In this context, the service description adopted by the council in 2020 will be put to the test.
A local transport concept will define, among other things, the routes, the frequency and the density of stops.
In the context of an update of the current local transport concept, changes in the area of drive systems or other legal requirements relating to buses may also have to be taken into account. Furthermore, the opportunity can be taken to consider new aspects of urban transportation. This includes, among other things, an evaluation of the commercial area lines tendered with the 2019 service specifications and the after-work service. An evaluation of this additional service has not yet taken place, as the Corona pandemic has only allowed some normality to return for about a year. The evaluation will be available by the time the concept is drawn up.
So that also suggestions of citizens of the city Rheine can be considered for the updating of the local traffic concept, there is the possibility over the “idea map local traffic concept”, which is publicly accessible on the homepage of the city Rheine (www.Rheine.de), to bring in ideas and suggestions directly. The processing of this idea card is possible for the next 2 weeks. In addition, suggestions can also be submitted in writing to the Department 5 , Planning and Building, of the city Rheine via the mail address .
In the further planning steps, the local transport concept will be adopted in the political bodies so that local transport in Rheine can be put out to tender again on this basis. The aim is to start operations with the updated local transport concept in mid-2025.
