Rheine. Presumably in the night from February 3 to 4, 2022, 2 fruit trees on the Emssaga meadow on the Timmermanufer were wantonly destroyed.A total of 12 fruit trees were planted there only about 2 weeks ago as part of the funding measure special program “Climate resilience in communities”.
The associated project “Unsealing measures in Rheine – Cool public spaces in the city center” is supported 100% by funds from the Corona aid of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The administration will file a complaint for damage to property in the short term and hopes for information from the population due to the city center location. The trees will of course be replaced, the damage caused amounts to more than 1,000 €.
