Rheine. Next Tuesday, December 20, 2022, it’s time again for the Cold Market. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., this Krammarkt with its centuries-old tradition invites you to find what suits you at the numerous stalls. Sweet or hearty specialties, all kinds of useful things, clothing or the still missing Christmas gift can be discovered. The market takes place across the pedestrian zone from the central bus station to the market square and the Hues corner. The largest and last Krammarkt of the year, which always takes place on the Tuesday before the St. Thomas holiday, scores with its special atmosphere. The performances of the traditional tower brass band contribute to this.
In the past, the markets were mainly used by the rural population from Rheine and the surrounding area to buy clothes and everyday items. Today they are still worth seeing and it remains fascinating to explore them during a stroll.
