Sustainability route A35 can generate energy for 25,000 households

The A35 Sustainability Route is expected to be able to generate at least 75 GWh to a maximum of 100 GWh of energy. That’s enough for about 25,000 to 35,000 households in Twente. This is evident from an exploratory report adopted by the colleges of the municipalities of Almelo, Borne, Enschede, Hellendoorn, Hengelo and Wierden, the executive board of the province of Overijssel and the boards of Rijkswaterstaat, Waterboard Vechtstromen and grid operator Enexis.

Borne municipality will now continue to work with the cooperation partners to develop the ideas from the exploration report. The project is part of the national pilot program ‘Renewable energy along national roads’ commissioned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.Read more athttps://www.energievanborne.nl/nieuws/duurzaamheidsroute-a35-kan-energie…
