Self-built raised bed of the residents of the Service-Wohns
Neuenkirchen. cpr. In the Caritas Service Living “Alte Seilerei” a self-built raised bed was ceremoniously inaugurated and toasted with sparkling wine and orange juice. In order to document for posterity who is to thank for this work, a bottle with the names of all those involved was embedded deep in the raised bed. The first carrots were then immediately sown and watered on top. Resident Hubertus Elling had the idea for this joint project some time ago. Since many residents had also cultivated vegetable gardens in the past, some of them were immediately enthusiastic about taking part. Several members quickly agreed to do the physical work. With suitable temperatures, lettuces, herbs and radishes will soon be sown in joyful anticipation of a bountiful harvest.
