When around 100 senior citizens from our partner municipality Borne arrived on two buses at 3 p.m. today, it wasn’t just the sun that was shining. Members of the board of the town twinning association were also delighted to see so many visitors from the Netherlands. After a piece of cake and coffee in the senior citizens’ center on Humboldtplatz, the guests swarmed out. Here they visited the wonderful St. Nicholas market in dry weather and strolled through the stores. RheineFinally, together with thousands of Rheinensers, they welcomed St. Nicholas on the market square. Right on time at 7 p.m., when the two buses set off for home, Peter opened the floodgates.
