Rose festival with cycling group from Rheine

78 pages with lots of information, dates and useful tips: The tourism guide 2022/23 of the city of Bernburg has now been published. The brochure also contains a host directory and a city map. The booklet is also available for download on the homepage of the town of Bernburg.

A glance at the calendar of events reveals that the range of events will only become more dense again in the second quarter. For example, the special exhibition “Hen Stars” will be celebrated with a gala at the Kurhaus on 10 April. The exhibition itself will then run until summer at the Kunsthalle Bernburg.

30 April and 1 May are dedicated to the 126th rowing regatta on the river Saale and the Bernburg medieval market in the castle courtyard. From 2 to 5 June, the traditional Rose Festival will take place in the town centre. A group of cyclists from the twin town of Rheine is also expected.

An anniversary date in the town of Bernburg has currently taken on a special significance: 300 years ago, the Plötzkau doctor Johann Theodor Eller (later director of the Berlin Charité) introduced the “smallpox vaccination” in Anhalt-Bernburg, a preliminary stage of the protective vaccination. The state is a pioneer in the fight against smallpox.
