RheineFor the autumn fair, the adjacent streets in the area of the two fairgrounds Emstorplatz and Elisabethplatz will again be closed to through traffic during construction, i.e. from Wednesday 04.10.2023. Affected by this closure are Diekbrede, Mondstraße, Bevergerner Straße, Parkstraße and parts of Breite Straße and Windthorststraße.
This measure is indispensable for the prevention of accidents, since the partly overlong vehicles of the fair suppliers need enough space for maneuvering and smaller vehicles not only obstruct the construction, but could possibly be overlooked. People who know the area are therefore asked to avoid these areas as far as possible.
For safety reasons, speed limits and no-stopping signs will be posted in some areas during the Autumn Fair.
The Department of Law and Order asks all road users to observe the traffic regulations. Parking violations will be punished consistently. Wherever emergency routes or bus traffic are obstructed, additional towing measures are to be expected.
As expected, many visitors, especially those from out of town, are expected to arrive by car during the fair. For them, there is a large parking supply in the parking garages in the city center. For those who do not wish to make the walk between the event sites on foot, there is a bus shuttle service operated by the municipal utility Rheine, which connects the event sites (Emstorplatz, Innenstadt and Elisabethplatz).
