“Historic Old Town” association has prepared an extensive program
Rheine. The historic house at Münstermauer 27, which was opened to the public in the fall of 2024 after years of restoration, will make its debut as a cultural venue next Thursday (April 10). “Heile, heile Hänsken” is the theme of a reading session with Otto Pötter from 6 to 7 pm in the house’s “butcher’s room”. Further events will follow throughout the year, including an open-air concert by the Strauhspier group in the Wirtschaftshof in July – and finally a pie pie day together with the local history association on December 27.

The “Haus der kleinen Leute” is very small, which is why there are only a few tickets available for the events in the MM27 rooms. Tickets are sold at the office of Rheine-Tourismus-Veranstaltungen (RTV). As the organizer, the Historic Old Town Association would like to point out that there are also plans to repeat events throughout the year if demand is high. The dates will be communicated in good time.
For the first reading next week: Giff sücke un sücke, with and without Nücke. Hänsken is also there; odd, but free of heart. Pötter writes something “to pass” about all this and that. With his famous Döönkes, Schnurren and rhymes, the multi-award-winning author from Rheine is one of the most widely read Low German authors in Münsterland and Emsland (www.poetter-plattdeutsch.de). However, since not everyone is familiar with Low German anymore, he sometimes switches to High German. So, frank and free, there is something for everyone. And now with a little bit of nice music too! So you can look forward to a pleasurable hour of reading. The book accompanying the lecture is available at a special price on request.
Tickets for the event are now available from RTV at a price of 10 euros, but seating is limited to 18 for capacity reasons in the “Metzgerraum”.
