Class of the Kopernikus-Gymnasium with the mayor
Rheine. Council chamber instead of classroom – the pupils of class 7B at Kopernikus-Gymnasium recently moved their politics lessons to Rheiner Rathaus for an hour. They were welcomed to the council chamber by Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann. Among other things, he explained the importance of the council chamber and reported on the opportunities for children and young people to participate in Rheine. These include the children’s advisory council, the youth team and the city student council. The pupils then talked to the mayor about a wide range of local political issues, including schools, sports facilities, the environment and urban development. The class was accompanied by their teacher Tina Fels. Photo: City Rheine
