Rheine. Under the direction of Stanislaw Nakielski, 18 musicians from the Red Heads Big Band will perform on Sunday, July 9, starting at 4:30 p.m. at Stadtpark in Rheine. Classics and arrangements of well-known titles from swing to Latin to rocking pieces will be played. Compositions by Henri Mancini, Lalo Shiffrin, Neal Hefti for the Count Basie Orchestra and Glenn Miller are represented as well as titles by Santana, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jimmy Davis, John Kander or Kurt Weill. The Red Heads are looking forward to their first performance in 2023 after a long break from playing. In particular, the distinctive annual Swinging Christmas Session on a Thursday evening in December, which is well known to the many spectators, has now achieved cult status in Rheine.
The City Park Concerts take place every second and fourth Sunday from the end of May to the end of August in the City Park Rheine. Admission is free. In the Stadtparkrestaurant you have the possibility to listen to the music while having a cup of coffee. The concerts are organized by the cultural service of the city Rheine. The city is supported in the organization by Schürmann Catering and Eventmanagement and the Stadtparkverein Rheine.
