Rheine.cpr. As part of a groundbreaking initiative to prevent sexualized violence, the Jacob-Meyersohn-Wohnverbund and the Schürmann cab company have announced a significant cooperation. The goal of the expanded partnership is to provide prevention training for the company’s drivers to ensure the continued safety and well-being of passengers and employees alike. With this cooperation, the Jacob-Meyersohn-Wohnverbund, which is committed to providing assistance and support for people with different types of disabilities, is sending a clear signal for protection against sexualized violence in all areas of life of the users of the Wohnverbund services – including passenger transportation. The prevention training sessions are aimed at raising awareness and training employees in potential risks and the right way to behave in sensitive situations.

Stefan Höge, head of the residential association, and Serge Bischoff, training officer, emphasize the importance of this cooperation: “We are pleased to be working with the Schürmann cab company to maintain a safe space for all passengers and employees. Our prevention training is designed not only to raise awareness of sexualized violence, but also to help people know how to act in critical moments. The many years of very good cooperation with the cab company will be intensified as a result.” The Schürmann cab company, which is known for its many years of experience in the transport sector, has welcomed the cooperation with the Jacob Meyersohn residential association as an important step towards increased safety and a sense of responsibility. Thorsten Sobiech, owner of Taxi Schürmann, explained, “The safety of our passengers and our employees is our top priority. The cooperation with the Jacob-Meyersohn-Wohnverbund enables us to expand our training measures and ensure that we are always up to date with regard to the prevention of sexualized violence.”

The prevention trainings are conducted by professionals trained in working with people with disabilities and raising awareness about sexualized violence. The trainings are designed to help raise drivers’ awareness of potential hazards, teach safety-related protocols, and improve communication with passengers to continue to ensure a safe and respectful driving environment.
