New youth welfare office parent advisory council for day care for children

Rheine. 14 parents’ councils of the now 48 daycare centers in Rheine met last week at the invitation of the municipal youth welfare office to elect a new youth welfare office parents’ council for the 12th time.

In the Youth Welfare Office Parents’ Advisory Council, parents not only represent their common interests vis-à-vis the Youth Welfare Office and the daycare providers, but also get involved in various areas for the interests of their children. After a report by the previous chairwoman Karin Sauerland on the work content, the parents’ meeting unanimously voted in favor of the formation of a Youth Welfare Office Parents’ Advisory Council in the coming year as well.

Svenja Glasmeyer was elected chairwoman of the new council, and Christiane Varelmann is her deputy. The team of spokespersons is supported by 10 other parent representatives who want to become involved in the Youth Welfare Office Parents’ Advisory Council as assessors.

More information about the advisory board can be found on the homepage at http://elternbeirat-Rheine.de/. For questions the youth welfare department of the city Rheine, Mrs. Katja Käschner, Tel. 05971 939 501, is available in addition.
