Mayor Rob Welten of Haaksbergen is not making himself available for a second term. He will seek a “new balance between work and leisure. That means he will stop on April 17, 2025. Welten began as mayor of Haaksbergen in April 2019. Before that, he was mayor of Borne for 10 years. Previously, the CDA’er was a member of provincial councils in Overijssel (2003-2006) and an alderman in Oldenzaal (2006-2009).
