Klaus Jäger retires as Head of the Health and Ageing Department / Golden badge of honor
Rheine. cpr. After around 30 years of commitment to Caritas Rheine, initially in the Caritas children’s and youth home with a special focus on working with children and young people and most recently as Head of the Health and Ageing Department, Klaus Jäger has retired. At the Caritas-Marienstift retirement home, Jäger was bid farewell by the board, management, colleagues, employees and other companions.
In recognition of his special commitment, Caritas board members Dieter Fühner and Ludger Schröer presented him with the Caritas Gold Badge of Honor on behalf of the German Caritas Association and the Münster Diocesan Caritas Association.
In his laudatory speech, Fühner emphasized Klaus Jäger’s extraordinary commitment to Caritas Rheine and gave an overview of his diverse tasks within Caritas Rheine.
Klaus Jäger began his work in 1997 as a group leader in the Dinkelstraße residential group at the Caritas children’s and youth home. In October 2003, Jäger took over the overall management of the Josefshaus in Wettringen as part of the management of the Caritas-Kinderheim Gesellschaft for the St. Josefshaus Foundation. In 2008, Klaus Jäger finally moved to the Caritas association Rheine, where he took on the role of Head of the Health and Ageing Department and Head of Social Care Services.
“As an expert in youth welfare, Klaus Jäger very quickly familiarized himself with his new field of elderly care. In his new role, Klaus Jäger has worked on and developed many subject areas with great commitment and conceptual skill,” said Fühner in his laudatory speech. Klaus Jäger understood how to focus equally on the necessary requirements for the Caritas organization Rheine, the legal and professional challenges as well as the needs of employees and older people and their relatives.Klaus Jäger is also constantly involved in social and societal issues beyond his professional responsibilities. Last year, the initiative “Rheine bleibt bunt” ( remains colorful) set an example for democracy and solidarity. Klaus acted as a liaison with Caritas Rheine and thus provided a platform on which many employees were able to advocate for humane policies.Klaus Jäger thanked the Management Board, colleagues and employees for their excellent cooperation. His personal conclusion is short and sweet: “It’s worth working for Caritas.”Markus Wixmerten has taken over from Klaus Jäger as Head of Department and Division. Wixmerten has been working in various positions and locations in healthcare and elderly care for many years. He is familiar with the structures in Rheine and in the Steinfurt district.
