Highly endangered singer

The Bali starling is one of the rarest birds in the world due to its snow-white plumage and its survival is critically endangered. There are now less than 100 individuals left in its natural habitat. Thanks to breeding in human care, several birds have now been successfully released back into the wild in Bali.Last year, the nature zoo Rheine received two males from Saarbrücken. They now live in the bird house. The zoo is thus making an important contribution to the protection of these birds as part of its participation in the European Endangered Species Program (EEP)
