Managing Director Winfried Hülsbusch (left) was presented with the German Caritas Association’s gold badge of honor by Hermann-Josef Kohnen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, for his 40 years of service at Caritas-Kinderheim Gesellschaft Rheine. In a ceremony, the members of the Supervisory Board, as well as fellow Managing Director and Caritas Board Member Ludger Schröer, Caritas Board Member Dieter Fühner and many other representatives of Caritas Rheine and the St. Josefshaus Wettringen Foundation, represented by Mayor Berthold Bültgerds, thanked Winfried Hülsbusch for his professional and successful work in education and management. They emphasized his courageous approach to new projects, his function as a networker and highlighted his ability as a team player and motivator.
Winfried Hülsbusch began his work at the Caritas children’s and youth home as a community service worker with a degree in social work. He soon became head of the newly founded residential community for young adults, which developed into an important part of the facility’s wide range of care services. Consequently, he moved into the educational management and was entrusted with further central management tasks. For the past ten years, he has led the Caritas-Kinderheim Gesellschaft as head of the home and managing director. The differentiated curative education and therapeutic support services, which are closely aligned with the needs of children, adolescents, young adults and their families, grew and developed under his leadership in cooperation with the youth welfare offices. Many young refugees in particular have been receiving intensive support for years. Winfried Hülsbusch therefore asked for donations for Ukrainehilfe. Managing the St. Josefshaus Wettringen Foundation and the St. Josef Campus, in close cooperation with the Caritas Association Rheine, also requires a special level of commitment and expertise.
Winfried Hülsbusch has also been involved nationwide on the board of the BVkE, the Caritas association for child and youth welfare. He has also been active for many years as an expert citizen on the youth welfare committee of the city of Rheine and is very committed to international cooperation as a member of the board of the Association for Town Twinning.
