The bicycle training team for immigrants and the bicycle workshop are looking for reinforcement
Rheine. Going shopping by bike, doing something for your health and the climate, visiting friends or making a quick trip to the countryside: What is everyday life for many of us is rather foreign, especially for people from other countries who have found their new home in our city. In some countries, women are even forbidden to ride bicycles.
The volunteers of the bicycle training therefore want to give interested people the chance to learn how to ride a bike. The courses not only teach how to ride, but also how to behave properly in traffic, what a roadworthy bicycle looks like, and how to fit a bicycle helmet properly.
By the way, a roadworthy bicycle is also the topic of the Kolping bicycle workshop for immigrants. Here, mostly donated bicycles are overhauled, lovingly cared for in the well-stocked workshop and then, for a small fee, given into the hands of the future bicycle owners. A flat tire or a defective brake? In these small emergency situations the team of the workshop stands every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon with advice and act to the side. Under expert eyes and with a lot of patience, you can get numerous tips, tricks and the necessary tools on loan to get your vehicle back into shape.
So that the training can start in May for as many interested people as possible and also in the future many bicycles can be repaired, the volunteers are looking for reinforcement. Who would like to participate, should be something bicycle enthusiastically and have desire to support other humans with the bicycle driving. Also interested people who like to screw in nice company and who do not mind dirty hands are welcome. The volunteers would be very pleased if women also came forward. Anyone who would like to participate is cordially invited to the information evening on April 25, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., at Mitte51, Mittelstraße 51 in Rheine. It will certainly also be possible to take a little look inside the workshop that evening.
