Rheine. It’s so green – at the Bentlage Monastery Museum. On Sunday, March 17, the municipal museums in the former Kreuzherrenkloster Bentlage will once again be offering free hands-on activities for children and families from 2 to 5 pm. In keeping with the start of spring, young museum visitors can go in search of spring-like shades of green and plant motifs in the exhibition. A studio for children will also be set up in the dormitory. Here, everyone can create great pictures with watercolors and oil circles and make beautiful, imaginative flowers from fabric and wire under supervision, while the museum’s “live speakers” inform adults about the cultural history of the monastery and answer visitors’ questions.

You can also find out how the Cistercian nuns from the monastery in Bersenbrück decorated the relic treasure of the Bentlager monastery with magnificent flowers in two altars over 500 years ago and thus created a “heavenly garden”. Information: 05971 939 711.
