The Senate approved the Energy Surcharge 2023 Act on October 3, 2023. The City Council has yet to decide on the terms of the energy surcharge. Once the conditions are clear, payment will be made. Municipality Borne expects this to happen in mid or late November. Keep a close eye onthe municipality’s website. On this page you will soon read when the energy surcharge will be paid.
The following is known about the energy surcharge:
- The energy surcharge will be a maximum of € 1,300, – per household in 2023. This is the same amount as the 2022 energy surcharge.
- Low-income households who qualify for the energy allowance and who are already known to the municipality will receive the energy allowance automatically.
- Are you not receiving the energy supplement automatically? Then you can apply for it. This can only be done once the conditions are clear and the application form is on the website. Keep an eye on the municipality’s website Borne for this.
Intervention in energy costs for students via DUO (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs)
Students are not entitled to the municipality’s energy allowance. DUO pays a one-time allowance for energy costs to students. More information is available at www.duo.nl.
