Couple Gerda and Josef Reeker donate to the ecumenical outpatient hospice
Rheine.cpr. 60 years ago, Gerda and Josef Reeker said yes to each other, and since then they have shared joys and sorrows. In October, this very special event was therefore celebrated in the circle of family and friends. The couple asked their guests for donations instead of gifts. The proceeds, a proud sum of over 2,000 euros, surprised them positively and will benefit the ecumenical outpatient hospice Rheine.
Petra Winter, the coordinator of the hospice service, thanked the couple very much for their generosity. At the couple’s request, the donations will be used to qualify volunteers in end-of-life and bereavement care. It is a great concern of the hospice service to carefully prepare the volunteers for their service so that they can lovingly care for the seriously ill and their relatives. The ecumenical outpatient hospice of the Caritas Association Rheine has been accompanying people in their final time of life at home or in an institution for over 28 years. There are also various offers for people who are grieving.
