Family afternoon at the Falkenhof Museum on Sunday, November 26th
It’s that time again: the Falkenhof Museum Rheine invites you to visit it next Sunday, 26.11.23 with a special program for the whole family. This time the motto is “Crystalline magic – creative with salt”. From 2 – 5 p.m. there will be an open offer in the museum studio, where small and large objects can be created with salt, which can be used to set special accents in the dark season. Children in particular are encouraged to experiment. Throughout the entire period, the museum guides will be giving useful tips on how to create and will have beautiful materials to hand. The reason for this theme is the special exhibition “Salt – Stories of the white gold from Rheine”, which is currently on display in the Morriensaal and the Falkenhof’s graphics cabinet. Using valuable handwritten documents, maps, plans and photographs, this exhibition takes visitors back to the time when salt was produced in Rheine-Bentlage for the people of Münsterland. The “live speakers” in the museum will be happy to inform all interested visitors about the stories that these historical documents reveal. Admission to the family afternoon is free.
