Citizens’ Prize winners 2023 have been selected
RheineThe jury led by Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann has made its decision: The winners of this year’s Citizen’s Award have been selected. The persons selected by the jury have rendered outstanding service to our society and to Rheine through their extraordinary voluntary commitment.
The following are pleased with the recognition:
– Margret Borkmann, among other things for the honorary activity in the Café “Oase” of the Caritasverband Rheine, for its commitment in the senior advisory board of the city Rheine as well as for its employment in the Ukraine assistance and with the action “travelling without suit-cases”.
– Lothar Schlutz, for his many years of activity in the Traumpfade e.V. association for the support of seriously ill children and children of Chernobyl and as the initiator of the “Fly for children” campaign at Eschendorf airfield.
– Clemens Schöpker, for his voluntary work as long-time chairman of the town twinning association (2014-2020) and his commitment in the field of youth exchange.
– The KjG St. Marien, which is involved in many ways in children’s and youth work in the parish of St. Marien in Eschendorf.
Since 1998, the citizens’ prize has been awarded to citizens who have shown exemplary voluntary work in our society for the benefit of others. The jury consists of the mayor, his deputies and representatives of the council factions.
This year, the citizens’ award ceremony will take place on December 3.
