City of Rheine sends out election notifications for the Bundestag election

RheineThis week, the almost 57,000 eligible voters in Rheine will receive their voting notifications for the upcoming Bundestag elections. The polling card will be sent out in the form of a letter and the first eligible voters have already received their polling card.

Anyone who is unable to go to the polls in person on February 23, 2025 has the option of casting their vote by postal vote.

An application for a polling card is required to vote by postal ballot. An application for a polling card together with postal voting documents can be made using the form on the back of the election notification, informally, in writing, verbally (not by telephone) or electronically. The following information is required: surname, first names, date of birth and home address and, if applicable, a different postal address.

It is also possible to apply online for a polling card and postal voting documents. A corresponding form can be conveniently accessed via the link www.Rheine.de/briefwahl or the QR code printed on the election notification. The QR code on the polling card is personalized so that the applicant can largely dispense with entering their data; only the date of birth and, if applicable, a different postal address need to be entered. The polling card and postal voting documents will be sent by post once the application has been submitted.

It is already possible to visit the city’s electoral office at Rheine to apply for a polling card with postal voting documents. However, “on-site postal voting” is only possible after the ballot papers have been delivered – from February 4, 2025.

The barrier-free electoral office is located on the 1st floor of the New Town Hall. The electoral office of the town of Rheine can be contacted by telephone on 05971 939-565 and by email .

Anyone wishing to make use of postal voting should apply for the documents as early as possible. It is important that the red ballot letters are returned to the town of Rheine by 6 p.m. on election day at the latest so that the votes can be counted during the postal vote count.
