Rheine. On Friday, the municipal library started its trial operation. A rehearsal because theprocesses under the new spatial conditions still have to settle in.The doors opened at 10 a.m. and the first guests, who were alreadywaitingoutside the doors of the altentoom storeon Osnabrück 84, were let in.”There were still workmen in the building this morning. And it willstay that wayuntil the official opening onOctober 27, 2022,” library director Elsbeth Wigger informed.
However, the technology, workstations and media sorting have been prepared to the extent that the test runcouldstart.”The new processes still have to settle in at the new location. But we are
confident that we will soon be able to offer the usual lending service again,” says Ms. Wiggerweiter. The good mood could be read in the faces of the employees. Everyone is in a good mood and is looking forward to beingthere for the readers again in the new rooms and under good conditions.
The numerous visitors on the very first day have finally brought the library back to life. When the library presents itself in an industrial-charm look, a feel-good atmosphere is guaranteed. There is plenty of opportunity to browse in the seating areas, and thanks to the illuminated cubeson the ceilings, visitors can quickly get a good overview of the shelves.Preparing and moving the library meant a lot of work. However, it is a great pleasure that theStroetmanngroup of companiesfrom Münster made the premises available during the reconstruction of the town hall center, and the result is very impressive.
Everyone who would like to visit the city library in the new (holy) halls is cordially invited to do so.The opening hours are:
Monday: 14-18 h
Tue-Fri: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
