Der Stadtchor Bernburg ist der älteste Gesangsverein von Rheines Partnerstadt.

Performance on Sunday at 2 pm on the Bornesquare

Rheine. The town twinning association and the town of Rheine are expecting visitors from Bernburg this weekend. The city choir Bernburg will arrive on Saturday – on Sunday a performance is planned as part of the street party. In between, talks are planned about a possible partnership with a Rheiner choir. The town twinning association will also be showing the choir members around the town on various guided tours.

The choir association is one of Bernburgs most traditional associations and is also the oldest singing association in the city. For over 185 years, the Friedrich Silcher Choir and its predecessors have brought together Bernburgcitizens who share the joy of singing together.

On Saturday, guests will be shown the history of salt production during a guided tour of the salt mine. A guided tour of Bentlage Abbey is also planned. In the evening, the town twinning association has invited the guests to a barbecue. Discussions about contacts with Rheiner choirs are also planned. On Sunday, a guided tour of the town is on the agenda, during which Deputy Mayor Karl-Heinz Brauer will also present current investments.

At 2 p.m., the city choir Bernburg will then give a one-hour performance as part of the street party on the stage at BornePlatz. Interested citizens are cordially invited to attend. www.friendsineurope.com
