Christmas donation to the Stadtgarde Rheine e. V.

RheineMayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann received a perhaps unusual Christmas visit to the town hall yesterday. The Stadtgarde Rheine e. V. had come to thank him for the 300 euros donated as part of the annual Donation instead of Christmas post campaign. For many years now, the mayor has refrained from sending Christmas post and instead uses the money to donate to various charitable organizations.

This year, the money was donated to the city guard Rheine, which not only accompanies the current KUR and city prince and princess couple and supports them on their numerous dates. Next year, the active athletes will also be hosting the Westphalia Championships in carnival dance sport. Mayor Dr. Lüttmann praised the commitment of the guard, who not only “provide cheerfulness and good humor during the carnival season, a quality that is all the more important in today’s crisis-ridden times, but also their dancing skills, which give children and young people the opportunity to acquire sporting and musical skills and to prove them successfully at tournaments”.
