Festival of amateur music – Emsstadt hosts the days of choral and orchestral music again in 2024

The wind orchestra Rodde was already present in the summer of 2021 at the Festival of Amateur Music in Rheine.

The Days of Choral and Orchestral Music (TCOM) will again be held in Rheine from March 8 – 10, 2024. The city on the Ems and the Federal Music Association Choir & Orchestra (BMCO) have agreed that Rheine will host the major music festival as a major festival weekend in March 2024, as originally planned for 2021.Rheine will again host the Days of Choral and Orchestral Music (TCOM) from March 8-10, 2024. The important amateur music festival will thus return to North Rhine-Westphalia after an open-air version in the summer of 2021.The Days of Choral and Orchestral Music celebrate music and the people who make it with diverse and top-class concerts. Resident music associations, regional choirs as well as the most different instrumental and Vocalensembles from completely Germany move thereby into the center.around the enormous variety and quality of the amateur music to show to be able, country widely and in particular from the region Rheine and environment coming amateur music ensembles are called to apply around a participation with the TCOM. All interested music groups can still apply until September 3, 2023 for a performance at the Night of Music and/or at the open air during the day on March 9, 2024. This does not only apply to large choirs and orchestras. Applications from smaller groups such as chamber music ensembles of orchestras are also expressly welcome.A digital info event was held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, to answer all questions about participating in the TCOM. They take place every year in a different federal state. Highlight of the TCOM is the awarding of the Zelter and PRO MUSICA plaques donated by the Federal President for choirs and orchestras, respectively, that are at least 100 years old – the highest awards in the amateur music sector.In addition, BMCO President Benjamin Strasser MdB: “We are pleased that Rheine will once again host the Days of Choral and Orchestral Music in its entirety next year. After the restrictions caused by the Corona pandemic, next March the city can really show how musically Münsterland is on the move. The power of amateur music helps people here, as everywhere else, to come together again and celebrate life.”Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann commented: “Rheine has already proven that our city on the Ems can be an excellent host for a festival of amateur music. Now, after Corona, we want to show once again how diverse our resident music associations are and how appealingly they shape the cultural musical life of our city. I would like to cordially invite all music ensembles to join the TCOM and register for participation.”In addition to the awarding of the plaques, the Night of Music will be a special highlight: in numerous short concerts, different music groups will perform in all their diversity at various venues in Rheine: Choirs, orchestras, bands and other ensembles will show how diverse amateur music is. Whether children’s choir, brass or plucked string orchestra, school band or big band, pop or gospel, classical or sacred music: the Night of Music offers the full program.
