RheineBuilding contractor and investor Chris Hofschröer and Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann met for a pleasant occasion at Rheine. This meeting was accompanied by Till Meyer (Managing Director of BURGMEYER Immobilien), Christoph Achterkamp (architect), Ralf Hüsing (Hofschröer Projektbau), Ingo Niehaus (Managing Director of EWG) and Mark Dieckmann (Head of Planning and Construction).
As is well known, a building complex is to be built on the brownfield site of the former Hertie site (Staelscher Hof), which will focus on hotel, residential and catering uses. The building will fit in very well with the urban environment of the Rheinecity center. With the presentation of the building permit to Mr. Hofschröer by Mayor Peter Lüttmann, another important milestone has been reached. “I am not only “happy and proud” that the project has met with broad approval, especially from the political decision-making bodies, but also about the fair and reliable cooperation with the city of Rheineat all times,” said Mr. Hofschröer. The city representatives unanimously agreed with this assessment.
“With the realization of this construction project, we are succeeding in the inner-city development of Staelscher Hof, which we have been striving for for a long time. The project also has special significance for the overall development of the city of Rheine,” said Mayor Lüttmann, convinced of the success of the project. “We would like to thank Mr. Hofschröer for his perseverance and determination in bringing the project to fruition despite the delays and price increases, particularly due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The city hotel will be operated as a Fairfield by Marriott by Signo Hospitality. It will be realized in a IV to V-storey construction with 120 hotel rooms. The entire complex will be broken up by an inner courtyard. Between the town hall center
and the hotel, an open passageway to the hotel’s inner courtyard will be created. There are also plans for 33 apartments. Their marketing began as soon as planning permission was granted. Thanks to good pre-qualification of interested parties, buyers have already been found for more than a third of the apartments. Further information is available at www.burgmeyer-immobilien.de.
The first floor will mainly be used as a hotel and associated restaurant, but independent restaurants and retail outlets are also possible. Rental units for office use are also planned.
Construction is scheduled to start in January 2025.
