RheineFor many years, the city of Rheine has honored citizens who are particularly committed to volunteering at Rheine and use their free time to help others with the Citizens’ Award. The special thing about the award is that nominations can be made by the public every year. In Rheine in particular, there are a large number of people who are active in the areas of education, culture, sport, social affairs and nature, either privately or in clubs.
The aim of the Citizens’ Award is to promote social recognition of voluntary work and motivate people to do exemplary work, just like the award winners. Once again this year, the city of Rheine is therefore calling for nominations for this year’s Citizen’s Award winners. If someone in your circle of friends or acquaintances has been doing voluntary work for a long time and with particular dedication, you are cordially invited to nominate this person or group. Please describe the commitment of the person or group you are proposing as fully as possible in order to create the best possible basis for selecting the award winners. This includes, for example, naming all the areas you are aware of in which the nominee is active as a volunteer, or how long they have been involved. A jury will decide on the winners by mutual agreement from all the nominations submitted.
The Citizens’ Prize is awarded annually close to the International Day of Volunteering at the beginning of December. Rheine The city’s press office will accept your suggestions in writing or by email to until September 20, 2024.
