Rheine. According to the report in the MV, “parent cabs” were once again the subject of much discussion at the last school board meeting. This refers to parents who bring their children directly to the school entrance and thus repeatedly cause traffic chaos. The administration is probably also looking into whether roads should be closed at certain times.
Let’s take a look at our Dutch partner municipality Borne. Here, there are signs at a distance of around 50 meters from the school entrance, which are regarded as a boundary. Up to here and no further, is the message. Kiss and drive on, is the motto here. And the parents follow this advice. Perhaps that would also be a solution for Rheine. However, this would require parents to understand and would probably need an extensive educational campaign.
