In the new awarding of the childcare services at Rheine primary schools, the contracts for the school locations put out to tender went to the TV Jahn-Rheine and the Youth and Family Service. While the TV Jahn-Rheine will continue the care work at the Annetteschule and the Michaelschule, the Edith-Stein-Schule, the Franziskusschule Mesum and the Ludgerusschule Schotthock will remain in the care of the Youth and Family Service.
With regard to the allocation of lunch catering, the Mensaverein Rheine remained the responsible caterer for the Annetteschule as well as the Michaelschule and will also take over the Ludgerusschule in the future. The Youth and Family Service also continues its work as caterer at the Edith Stein School and the Franziskus School Mesum.
The tenders were carried out in order to expand the qualitative standards in the Rhein schools. Financial aspects only played a subordinate role in the selection process. The bidders were selected primarily on the basis of their pedagogical concepts or the catering offer in order to find the right partner for the respective school profile.
The tendering process was Europe-wide. A new tender for the school locations will take place for the school year 2026/2027.
