RheineOn Friday, October 11, Hilfe für Menschen in Uganda – Pfarrer John Kennedy Lubega e. V. invites you to a special benefit concert in the St. Antonius Basilica in Rheine for aid projects for people in Uganda. The association was founded by Pastor Erich Elpers, who, in addition to leading parishes in Metelen and Rheine, among others, was also an emergency chaplain and police chaplain with heart and soul and helped people in crisis situations. His association to support Pastor John F. K. Lubega in his work in Uganda was one of his favorite projects.

The event starts at 6 pm, admission is from 5:30 pm. Under the patronage of Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann, who also had a close relationship with Pastor Elpers, and sponsored by Stadtkultur Rheine, visitors can expect a musical highlight that will both entertain and provide important help for those in need. The well-known Volker Leiss Band, which is known for its rousing performances in the rock and pop genres, will provide the musical backdrop. With handmade music, the band promises an unforgettable evening that invites you to sing along. The musical spectrum ranges from evergreens by the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and Sting to Pink Floyd and Udo Lindenberg.

The proceeds from the concert will go directly to projects that aim to improve living conditions in Uganda. In particular, the aim is to promote access to education, health and sustainable development. The aim of the current benefit concert is therefore to realize another very important project: A building for 100 schoolchildren who can spend the night there, as their daily walk to school and back home would otherwise be too far. “Music has the power to unite people and give hope. We are delighted that we can make a contribution to a better future for the people of Uganda with this concert,” explains Mayor Dr. Peter Lüttmann.

Tickets for the concert, priced at 18 euros, are available at the box office. Tickets can also be purchased in advance for 15 euros from Früchte-Eck, Elite-Reinigung Nagelschmidt, the parish offices of St. Antonius and St. Dionysius and Mitte 51. Support this important cause and enjoy an evening of excellent music at the same time. After the concert, food and drinks as well as pumpkins and decorations will be available for purchase.
